I was having troubles posting for a few days, but now it seems ok. Here's another musical endeavor.

Mini projects
I made a Halloween puzzle for my students. The bike I did in about five minutes. Because drawing comes less naturally to me than, say, writing, I often get that "I don't wanna" feeling about it. So I figure committing to five minutes keeps me practicing while avoiding the "I don't wanna" zone.
thoughts on rocks
I do not have the same joys as my family
Though I may share their jewels of wisdom
I do not carry the same stones.
I am (in) a frail slate,
A shale of myself, comported to the world
An inverse geode,
Glimmering outside,
Volcanic within
Stoic
Stony and unfeeling…
Yet the stone is a stone
Due to its toughness.
It is neither weak nor strong
Nor impregnable.
It is composed. Solid. Standing.
Sound.

At times.
When we cry,
the tears welling up
feel good.
when we cry,
releasing our tears
brings more.
when we cry,
we can express
ourselves.
expressing ourselves
feels good,
especially
when we cry.
the tears welling up
feel good.
when we cry,
releasing our tears
brings more.
when we cry,
we can express
ourselves.
expressing ourselves
feels good,
especially
when we cry.

Makin' some Kkakdugi (깍두기)
Yesterday I went to the Farmers' Market and found out that THE DAIKON ARE BACK!!!!
It's time to make Kkakdugi!
For those of you unfamiliar it is radish kimchi. I'm seething with jealousy that Andrew Costello is probably eating it by the vat right now. I love it a lot. I wanna marry it.
So here's my first attempt of the season.
And speaking of creativity and Japanese radishes, here is a link to see the fastest and most cunning daikon that ever lived.
Wolf Part I
"In the final, darkest days of Rome, packs of voracious wolves howled amid the ruins and roamed the streets at night."
- Something I heard on TV
Based on real events that occurred in the city of Detroit, MI.

My hood
I've recently began volunteering at community garden in my neighborhood, Bayview-Hunters Point.
On the way back I took some pics of some cool things round my way.
Check it!

A few days' worth
Sometimes at work there are slow days. (I know, this is kind of the antithesis of teaching. Trust me, I don't feel good about it.) It's amazing though, when you're sitting in a lobby with children who refuse to engage with you linguistically, how the gesture of a proffered sketchbook and a pencil is pretty universal. One girl drew her house, and a little boy drew himself (I made him be in a forest. I should really develop it).

Cold Day
A break from editing to give a short poem.
In the distance I see lightning,
a quick tongue lapping
the salt of the earth.
Here, I feel thunder
Hard and hollow
I do not know when they’ll
decide to change their roles

The First Annual Six-legged Beauty Pageant
Minimal editing. I was having trouble trying to amplify the bass though. In any case, I really enjoy this one; I hope you do as well :)

Paris be bullshittin', yo
Man, all this old country bureaucracy be boggin' my game down. Tryin' to open a bank account instead of making phat beats and shit these past days.
I dropped shit just now, but it's just a loop and it's just to say that I'm down to be creative this month, even though I'm living hella ghetto and am questioning my life decisions throughout the day.
Please tell me I'm awesome and that all the super famous hip-hop producers should bow to me when I finish this beat. France has left me only a shadow of my former self. I'm going to eat a stale ass baguette in the corner now. peace
